Luka Doncic, a Slovenian professional basketball player who was selected third overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft, is the beautiful son of Mirjam Poterbin. Milena and Anton Poterbin welcomed Mirjam into the world in Slovenia. She has a beautician’s business. She had managed a beauty salon in Slovenia. Currently, she resides in Dallas.

Net Worth of Mirjam

Mirjam’s wealth has not been made public. At a young age, her son Luka was able to get the attention of his friends. He was recognized as one of the most accomplished players even before the NBA draft.

While playing for Real Madrid, he won a championship and was awarded MVP. In March 2021, a source says Luka will take on the role of brand ambassador for the sports nutrition company Biosteel.

For the 2018–19 campaign, he received the Rookie of the Year award. He amassed a fortune of $25 million as of November 2022 at a young age.

An unsatisfying union

Sasa Doncic, a fellow Slovenian, was Mirjam’s husband. The exact date of their nuptials is unknown, but their union was doomed to fail. When Luka was nine years old, in 2008, they were divorced.

After their divorce, Mirjam was given custody of and legal guardianship over her son. Mirjam thinks that playing basketball helped him get over the trying time of their divorce.

Sasa Doncic, the Ex-husband’s wife

Her ex-husband, who is also Luka’s father, is a seasoned basketball coach. After winning the Slovenian Premier League twice in 2007 and 2008, three Slovenian Cups in 2004, 2007, and 2008, as well as the Slovenian Super Cup in 2007, he announced his retirement from professional football. He gave up playing in 2010 and started a coaching career.

Sasa’s letter to his son Luka

Sasa’s relationship with his kid has deteriorated recently. He justified his absence from the 2018 NBA draft with a passionate letter in which he talked about being a flawed father. In his letter, he admitted that he wasn’t always perfect and that, rather than being at his side during the draft, he was in Ljubljana.

He pleaded with his son to keep their discussion of the reason for his absence hidden. He continued by expressing his happiness as a parent at seeing his name on television.

When he left Slovenia at the age of 13, he recalls feeling both sad and happy at the same time. Though he didn’t want him to miss out on the opportunity, he wanted his child to be with them.

When his son was a baby, he also shared two special occasions with him: the first was when he won the MVP prize while competing against more experienced players in the Barcelona tournament, and the second was his first possession when he got the ball in the corner and made a three-point shot on his first outing with the men’s team.

The thing that matters most to her is that her son is happy

Mirjam asserts that she never gave her son’s accomplishment any thought. She was only interested in his enjoyment and making sure he had a wonderful time in life. To see her child happy, she has sacrificed a lot in her life.

When Luka was 13 years old, she made the difficult decision to send him to Real Madrid to play professional ball just because her son was eager to try and happy where he was. She spent the majority of her three years living apart from her child crying and thinking about him.

The only child is Luka

Luka is Mirjam’s sole child. On February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, she gave birth to him. She became a single mother to raise her child. She is now single. Luka was raised by Mirjam, who has always encouraged his aspirations.

Mirjam Poterbin assisted her son when he was in Spain by traveling to Spain from Slovenia every weekend. After three years, when Luka asked her to move to Spain with him, she did not think twice and quit her job and salon to be with her child. After his NBA draft, she moved to the United States. She may be seen supporting her child from the stands.

Luka’s love life

When he was 12 years old, Luka found the love of his life, Anamaria Goltes, on a Croatian beach. They have been together for almost five years and have two dogs in Dallas. Anamaria is a coach for healthy living and exercise.
