Is Ella Toone related to Alessia Russo?

Alessia Russo and Ella Ann Toone had a childhood relationship that lasted throughout their football careers.

The two offensive players grew up together and went on to play for Manchester United and the England national team.

Toone sent an emotional farewell on TikTok hours after Mia’s departure from Manchester United was confirmed in June 2023.

She told her best friend she was proud of her and that she would miss spending time with her every day. She did, however, highlight that she is confident they will stay lifelong friends.

Ann talked of their on-pitch synergy in December 2022, owing to their familiarity with each other’s playing styles.

In addition to Toone, Russo has formed deep bonds with several of her colleagues over her football career.

She and Alessia reinforced their childhood friendship when they both became Manchester United and England players.

Mia, on the other hand, is likely to have formed particular bonds with her teammates at her many teams, including Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and others.

Her open letter after leaving Manchester United praised all of her teammates for allowing her to realize her ambition.

No doubt, her Women’s Super League colleagues will miss her as she leaves behind these ties formed on and off the field.

While Mia’s best friend voiced her sadness at leaving United, teammates from her past teams are likely to have felt the same way when she moved on.

Soccer promotes such close bonds, especially for a friendly player like her.

Mia is now on her way to Arsenal, where she will aim to recreate the same team dynamic.

Though saying goodbye is difficult, Russo has demonstrated an ability to build long-lasting friendships everywhere she goes. She and Ann will maintain their particular friendship while representing England.
