Ben Bryant is one of three siblings, growing up with his brother Jordan and sister Abby. The teenage quarterback is gaining recognition after being named the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl MVP.

Ben Bryant grew up in La Grange, Illinois, and graduated from Lyons Township High School. Bryant, a three-star prospect, has committed to play college football at Wisconsin. However, his scholarship offer was rescinded, purportedly due to a tweet claiming to have received an offer from another college.

As a result, the quarterback signed a letter of intent to attend the Cincinnati Bearcats. Bryant continued his football career with the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2018 to 2020. He then transferred to Eastern Michigan in 2021, before returning to the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2022. By 2023, Bryant had transferred again, this time to Northwestern.

Ben Bryant’s Parents and Sister

Northwestern quarterback Ben Bryant comes from a family with a rich sports history. Ben was born to Sean and Laura Bryant, both of whom graduated from Eastern Michigan University, and his family has a long history of athletics. His father, Sean, shone out as a walk-on long snapper for EMU’s football team.

Sean’s athletic ability was recognized in 1990 when he received the Harold E. Sponberg Award. He also received the Outstanding Special Teams Award that year, recognizing his significant services to the organization. Ben’s family history extends beyond his athletic accomplishments.

He is one of three siblings, raised with his brother Jordan and sister Abby. While more details about Ben’s football career are available to the public, information on Abby is limited. She goes by the pseudonym @abbyswim1, although her account is private.

Bryant leads Northwestern over Utah 14-7 in the Las Vegas Bowl

Ben Bryant had a solid performance in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday night, passing for 222 yards. His most notable moment came in the fourth quarter, when he found Bryce Kirtz in the end zone’s corner, propelling Northwestern to a 14-7 victory over Utah. Bryant completed 22 of 34 passes and scored two touchdowns, helping Northwestern (8-5) finish the season on a high note with a four-game win streak. Coach David Braun acknowledged Bryant’s contributions, saying,

“Ben exemplifies what it means to be a transfer at Northwestern.” It’s about finding the right person. Not the proper athlete, but the right person.”

Following his January appointment as defensive coordinator, David Braun was promoted to head coach in July, succeeding Pat Fitzgerald, who resigned amid a hazing scandal investigation. Braun’s leadership changed a team that had previously struggled with a 1-11 record in 2022, leading the Wildcats to an 8-5 season and a bowl victory in his first year in charge.
