Bethany England is engaged to her then-girlfriend-turned-fiancee, soccer player Stephanie Williams. They started dating in 2018 and have been together ever since.

She began playing soccer with a boys’ squad when she was six years old, having been born and raised with two sisters. She was playing for Sheffield United’s girls’ squad with her twin sister, Laura, by the age of 13. On July 23, 2011, she made her senior debut with Doncaster Belles.

England later played for Chelsea in the 2016-17 season before loaning out to Liverpool in the 2017-18 season. She returned to Chelsea for a second period in 2018 after a season at Liverpool and continued with the Blues until January 4, 2023, when she was purchased by Tottenham for a record-breaking £250,000 ($300,000). She has also represented England at numerous levels, including U19, U23, and senior.

Her Big Spurs Move And The World Cup

England spent seven years at Chelsea before joining Spurs in January. It was a difficult decision for the striker because Chelsea was a big part of her professional career. Furthermore, her transfer to Spurs drew immediate criticism because it was a record-breaking transfer for a British player in the women’s game. Nonetheless, Spurs provided England with what they desired: a chance to play and score.

Her remarkable performance for the Spurs earned her a spot on the women’s national team for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023. When she received the call from Wiegman confirming her inclusion in the 23-man World Cup team, England’s joy knew no bounds.

“I tried to play it nice and cool but I hung up the phone and screamed my house down,” she went on to say.

“The first thing I did was call my mother and my partner.”
